ABOUT STAR CIRCUS
“One of the most inventive and emotionally resonant acts on the current scene” - Brent Rusche // Fireworks Magazine
Star Circus are a London-based rock band led by Dave Winkler and Sophie Aurelia Young, influenced by a variety of classic rock artists including Queen, Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick and Def Leppard.
The band was formed in late 2019 by frontman Dave, whose songwriting caught the attention of radio legend Tony Wilson. The pair worked together on creating the debut album 'Separate Sides', which came out in December 2022 to an overwhelmingly positive critical response.
“Superb, infectious fun. It's absolutely chock-full of melodies that earworm their way into your head, set up camp and refuse to move out again” Alex Holmes - Powerplay Magazine
Following the album release and several UK tours supporting a host of international acts and a headline show at the legendary Camden Underworld, Star Circus signed to Arizona-based Renaissance Records for their sophomore album ‘From The Wreckage’ which was released on Friday 13th June 2025.
"The sound of Summer ’25? Quite possibly. The performance of a lifetime, so far at any rate. The mind boggles as to where their musical odyssey will yet convey them." - Sophie James // METALTALK
Lead off single Chained To You displayed a heavier, more modern sound, while still remaining true to their 80s and 90s rock influences. After the success of epic ballad Turn The Tide, featuring the collaboration with guitarist Santiago Periotti, the band released the third taster single from the forthcoming album, One Hit Wonder on Friday 11th April which saw huge success on all media platforms and featured on Classic Rock Magazine's ‘Hot List’. Further singles Two Odds Make an Even, Masquerade and Over & Over have cemented the band as a songwriting force of nature.
“With their superb quality guitar solos and flawless performance, they pack a punch” Dawn Osborne // TotalRock
